Job Summary

Duties
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify speech, language, and swallowing disorders using established clinical methods and medical terminology.
Develop tailored treatment plans focused on improving speech clarity, language comprehension, voice quality, and social communication skills.
Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust therapy strategies to maximize outcomes.
Educate patients and their families on exercises and strategies to support ongoing communication development at home and in school environments.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, educators, and occupational therapists—to ensure holistic patient care.
Skills
Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech production, swallowing functions, and respiratory systems.
Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to interpret medical terminology effectively.
Familiarity with speech therapy techniques tailored for diverse populations and age groups.
Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to patients of all ages and their families.
Knowledge of medical records management and documentation standards for healthcare providers.
